I know the producers job is to hit the director over the head with a reality check but I was on the verge of falling into a coma. I know I have a good script but every time I think there is enough in place to really start some serious pre-production, I am told it isn't enough. When was I going to get some encouragement and creative thinking to help me accomplish these innumerable tasks? Obviously I need more help.
I met with Lindsey Sparks, a writer and actress who is spearheading her own western feature production starring women - The Great Divide. Lindsay was invaluable and generous. She shared as much as she could with me and it helped a lot. I couldn't post for more crew until I had a website so that's what I've been doing for the last month. Luckily I have a talented, supportive family that stepped forward. I don't know how I could have kept going if not for them. My daughter, Andrea, designed the website, my younger daughter, Fuji, provided needed illustrations and my son Matao and husband Steve provided a cheering section. My brother-in-law, Howard, an actor, volunteered to help me with fundraising and the application I need to work with SAG actors. Thank you family!
